Good parents. I realized it myself that I was spending all of my money on them and am saving for something bigger: A MacBook :D I used to get the whole collections, but now all I care about is MOCing, so I get the sets that have the best pieces for MOCing

Dont be sad. This means that they might be planning to get you something large and dont want you to buy it yourself before them.
Either that or they think Santa might get you something bionicle related.
